Egg incubator useful for growing?
    #564904 -

i have a very large egg incubator. I would say 1.5' x 2.5' x 2.5'. Would this be useful for growing? It seems like it's ideal, but i've never heard of egg incubators being used.

Funny you should say that.

I hear of a lot of people using 10 g. fish tanks with the water heater in it, blablabla. About 5 or so years ago when my Oketee corn snake laid eggs, I put them on dampened vermic inside a shoebox inside an incubator just like people on here make. A couple months later, it was absolutely amazing seeing these baby snakes pop their heads out of the shell to take their first ever breaths.

I don't see why it wouldn't work, but IMO all you need is proper temp during incubation and your fine. You could probably get the conditions good for fruiting in it though.

Baby Bear has searched many incubator sites for plans to help her build a decent chamber....there are many good ideas out there. There is no reason they would not work, just maintain the temps and humidity.

ahh, yes. it could make a hell of a desicant chamber, that is if one were harvesting pounds j/k. even has the wire mesh racks and all! Seriously though, i may try to get a glass door or something. that would be a nice addition if i put a light above the casing.
