Growing too fast, What to do?
    #564994 - 02/27/02 05:18 PM (23 years, 1 month ago)

I am now growing my first PF cake and 3 out of 5 jars are fully colonized after 11 days and the other 2 are 50% colonized. Im growning Equador strain PC. And I used all precautions in being sterile. I was wondering if im doing very good or if it is just that its the strain im growing. My terrarium is a rubbermaid container and Heat pad too keep the temp around 74 Degr. in the terrarium. Also i was wondering when should i birth the fully colonized jars. Thanks for everyones help

Sounds like you are doing ok to me!

You can birth them as soon as they are fully colonized. Some people like to leave them in an extra day or so if they are worried that they might not be fully colonized in the middle but the fact is, you can birth them right away. They will still colonize outside the jar. Its not like taking them out of the jar means they stop colonizing.
