Someone backed into my car, in my parking lot!

I live in a condo complex, and my car was parked under our covered (reserved) parking. on the other side is free, uncovered parking. i walk out to my car one night and see the back end is totally fucked up... no note, no info, nothing.
the truck opposite mine has a chrome bumper that fits it perfectly, but there's not anything i can do, since it happened anonymously.

i'm gonna take it to the honda dealer today, to get a quote on fixing it. best case scenario they can pop it out, but i doubt it...

the question is, do i make a claim (i have a $1000 deductible) or just take care of it? doesn't make sense to raise my rates if the repair will cost under $1000 anyway...

might be clearer after this quote.

Damn, dont you hate fucking scum, that wont even admit their mistakes. Same scenario happened to me a few years back.
Depending on your record, and past claim history, the
Insurance company might not raise rates.

Well that really sucks.
I had the same thing happen to me in my own driveway.

Some people were throwing a party, their driveway got full, and someone parked behind my car, smashing the tail light out.

got an estimate, looks like real body work needs to be done, as even the trunk can barely latch.

gonna be a week in the shop, and over $1300 (that's the low estimate of the two places too!). so i gotta call that fucking lizard and straighten this shit out.

He's right. That's a plastic part. Put your hands on there and squeeze
the fucker back into shape like you would a soda bottle or pop can.

edit: Or you could borrow a slide hammer and do it real easy, except
for the pesky hole it leaves where the dent was.

dude just take your time fixing that thing. just call up junk yards around your area and ask for a 98-2002 accord rear bumper, i'm pretty sure the 98-00 and 2001-02 have different bumpers. so when u get the bumper froma junkyard just have it color matched your color and bolt the bitch on. probably going to cost you 500 bucks total.

it's not like the dent stops with the plastic bumper. if you saw into my trunk you'd notice that the body frame is fucked up too, as the inside of my trunk (and my trunk latch) is bent in.

I'm gonna try to pop out the external dent for cosmetics, but the fact remains i can barely close my trunk..

i've got the weekend, cuz they can't do anything til monday anyway.

Does it screw with your wheel alignment? If the shape of the wheelbase
isn't messed up, you've got all the time in the world to fix it.

Thats not a bad price. For a replacement trunk and bumper, sanding, time, material, paint, probably from the looks of it a tail light.

Dude, if that dick comes back fuck his truck up. I had a guy from the NCSU football team back into my Spec V at 35mph with a steel bumper, while blowing a .27 an hour after he was caught leaving the scene. Atleast the dumb fucker left a note that said: "Sorry, here is my phone number."
