Re: Was Janis Joplin a tripster? [Re: Nuggetpouch]

By the summer of 1968, Janis and big Brother were pretty fuckled up on stage and a lot of missing nottes, wrong notes and bad vocals emerged frm all of their mouuths. However, when one is on acid and smioking pot at those concerts whcih cost two dollans and a half for 6 hours of music, one did not care that they were out of tune or stoned out of their minds.

It was having a good time.

I loved her albumns, However, the first one was only a total of ten minutes on each side of the album. Thats only a few minutes longer than Hey Jude or the long version of
Light My Fire.

I loved "Take another little piece of my heart" best of all of her songs.

The 1979 film "The Rose" was loosely based on Joplin's life. The lead role earned Bette Midler an Academy Award nomination as Best Actress.

Has anyone seen it? Is it any good or worth watching?

Peoples opinions on movies vary greatly. I would say if it is about Janis Joplin well then it is definately worth watching and judging for yourself (which i will surely do)

pigpen really wasn't a habitual smoker, though he did drink all the time.

I would be happy to be dosed with acid. It's free acid, what's not to like? :p
