Janis Joplin
    #3783491 - 02/15/05 03:04 PM (12 years, 3 months ago)

She's no Britney.

She's a little rough around the edges, her voice is strong and raspy, but what comes out of her lungs comes straight from her soul.

"I gotta go find myself,
I gotta go find my life.
I gotta go to Africa
Or New York
Or Lima...
Or somewhere, I don't know.
Like the capricorn that I am I'll just be standing there wondering what comes next...."

She just rambles on with that scratchy, weathered voice she is so famous for.  I think she's the bees knees.

She doesn't really care what people think, she wears what she wants to wear, she rocks because she just LOVES TO ROCK...and she is beautiful because of the strength in her heart.

They are going to be doing a TV show where they try to find the next 'Janis'.

Hell yeah she was no Britney. The girl had a heart made from flesh and blood, not a motorized thingamajig that pumped industrial lubricant direct to the boob shakin' motors in her chest.

Is THAT what that was on TV... I saw some people singing her songs, who were totally not her at all. Silly tv shows!

It's stupid to try and recreate these people/legends. Try and come up with your own style----Janis can be an inspiration but to try and replicate everything about her is just a dumb and obsurd idea.
