Hackers get personal data on 14.000 Pentagon employees
    #5592943 -

I haven't found any English news sources yet. Only this German one
http://www.heise.de/newsticker/meldung/72658
They basically did what the title said.

And then there is also this case running against a British hacker, McKinnon, who got into the Pentagon on 56k modem to look for UFO data.

Oh how secure the Pentagon is, they must be running windows XP or something
Maybe they should hire McKinnon to update their defenses.

Good design, so they lead the hackers away from the really important stuff?
Personal data isn't important?

They retrieved credit card numbers, social security numbers, private addresses and telephone numbers of roughly 14,000 Pentagon employees. Considering that the total number of military and civilian employees in Pentagon makes up around 23,000, I bet Donald Rumsfeld's phone number is not among those 14,000. Hint: a lot of janitors.

Hey thanks man! Also for digging up my thread.

edit:
This hacker is not the one who got the personel files on 14000 employees though. But really cool story especially about him finding multiple hackers doing the same thing. Hope he doesn't get a really big sentance.

I can't understand why the US government doesn't use a non-accesible network. Something that's disconnected from the internet, using private encrypted lines.
