Philosophers Stone AKA Truffles?

On my first trip, i was told to choose between a Standard Mexican P.Cubensis and The "Philosophers Stone".
Now, I understand the truffles are NOT mushrooms, but have similar effects to the Mexican Mushrooms.
So, can someone please go into further detail as to what the Philospher's Stone is and what are its effects?

The effects are identical. Dosage (how much you would have to eat to acheive equal effects) is not the same for both. Presumably you're dealing with fresh mushrooms and stones?

Does "Philosopher's stone" refer to scletoria?
The term is way too ambiguous, do you know how many things have been referred to as the "Philosopher's Stone" ??

yeah man they really are mushrooms just a differnt kind they are fungi Basidiomycota Strophariaceae Psilocybe tampanensis sclerotia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psilocybe_tampanensis
A sclerotium (plural: sclerotia) is a hardened mass of mycelium which is more resistant to adverse environmental conditions than normal mycelium. Sclerotia form from the mycelium of certain mushroom species as a defense mechanism against dryness, cold, heat, or excessive moisture. Sclerotia contain approximately 30% dry matter. The potency of dry sclerotia is around 2/3 that of dry Psilocybe cubensis fruitbodies. (As with every mushroom, the potency can vary depending on the mushroom strain, substrate composition and other factors

Yeah I know what scletoria is...
Wasn't sure if scletoria was "Philosopher's Stone," though.
