Is 133 degress in a dehydrator to warm for shroom drying?

ebay has the Ronco 5 tray on sale for like 35 bucks...
theres another one 10 tray temp controlled for 169 bucks.. temp starts at 85 on that one. I think thats the one i ll need.

If you could, find one with fan-forced heat.  That way should be able to disconnect the heating element and just use the fan.  I've done a little research on the topic and I believe the Ronco doesn't use a fan at all.  Just a thought. :smile:

Point well taken Ralph. I got a large tupperware bowl, and I got a few screens, and my local hardware compmay just said they dont have dri rite but have damp rid.. so looks like the old FAQ is the simplest answer after all, and it dont cost 169 dollars

Will it still work well if I skip the "fanning for a day" phase and put it directly into the "drying chamber" (mixing bowl with damp rid on a lower screen and shrooms on a higher screen)

This will still work, but faster and better with fan for a day. Actually, a fan alone without damp rid will do fine. When I go hunting in the wild and get a bunch it is much easier to just lay them on paper towles and put the fan on swivel.
