Yeah I've always wanted to learn flyfishing myself...looks like fun but at the same time it looks like it is a pain in the ass. I'd prefer just standing on dry ground, having a beer or 2 with the cooler right there..etc

yep... catfish.... they are human waste remoras... When we clean trout and redfish off the side of the boat, there are so many 5 lb catfish that I can/have seriously blindfolded myself and thrust into the water with a gig (pole with a spike on the end) and came up with a catfish.

They are such useless fish.


Man, this makes me laugh... Lobster costs like 8-17 dollars a pound and most of what it eats is shit. In fact, all shellfish pretty much only eat waste. Bottom feeders are the sweetest juiciest most flavorful fish there is. Farm raised catfish is bland as hell.

To each their own, I guess.

When I was a kid a friend of mine used to do a lot of fishing down at the canal (Eerie Canal) which is extremely polluted these days. He always caught a lot of bass and sunfish. The local chinese restaurant paid $5.00 a fish. Two fish baught us a gram of bud compliments of the local chinks.. (no racism intended) :lol: Getting to the main point here. They would even buy carp off us at $5.00 a pop. :puke: Needless to say anybody in the know did not buy food there. They are under new management now.

The craziest thing just happened to me! My friend and I were riding bikes on a path in the woods. We stop to chill and smoke and we hear music coming from the woods... So we decide to check it out. We get closer and closer when the sound suddenly goes away! There was no one around at all, and the sound was coming from the woods which was complete darkness.

I dont know about you, but if you are chillin in complete darkness in the woods, you are gonna need some kind of light. Im not saying it was something paranormal, but boy was it creepy!

Hah that's awesome. You guys could spend the afternoon fishing, relaxing, chatting, get some money for it, then get some money to buy some bud and get stoned to do it all over again. Sounds sweet.

There's this crazy old fuck that lives across the street from my uncle, which is about 2 miles down the road. A couple weeks ago he caught about 50 sunnys and sold em for a dollar a pop. Imagine if he got 5 dollars for them..

Are sunfish actually any good to eat? I'm not all into fishing or fish for that matter, but whenever my buddies would catch a sunfish they'd toss it back no matter the size. (unless we planned on going to the Chinese joint)

Yeah, they're okay to eat, just VERY boney. I hate it when they steal my shiners! I want a good size Bass or Pike or Pickerel... I throw em all back, catch and release.

I'm with your buddies, they seem like junk to me. Some people like em but I'm real picky when it comes to fish, I wouldn't even give sunnys the time of day. Besides, I heard that they're really bony and hard to get the meat out.

If you don't like fish you should try basa fish. It is not like other fish at all.

Personally I like oily fish like rainbow trout.

Yeah all my buds were always looking to catch bass. I used to go along and toss a line out for fun. Caught a decent sized bass once and gave it to one of my friends. I've caught a lot of sunfish (without trying very hard) over the years though. :lol:

Got to go down and get my fishing license. I'd like to get into fishing this summer. Nice hobby to pick up.


On another note when I was about four or five my old man took me down to the lake to fish off the dock. At the time I had a little fisher price fishing pole for toddlers. The pole was about the size of my arm. Anyhow... my old man hooked a worm, and I dropped the line in the water. Not only 5 minutes later I got a big tug and with help pulled out a fish that was about half the size of me. :rotfl: No idea what kind of fish it was but I've got a pic I'll post in the LNC thread tomorrow night and maybe one of you can identify it for me. :chugbeer:
