CASING humidification
    #555161 - 02/18/02 08:24 AM (21 years, 7 months ago)

in the tek known as casing, does the casing serve to be eaten by the mycelia? like the peat in a 50/50 model for example. or is the casing strictly for humidification purposes.

does mycelia take nurtients from casing layers?

Casings......like peat moss/verm or coco-fiber are non-nutritive. They simply re-hydrate the cakes or crumbled cakes.

The casing is non-nutrative.
the mycelium doesn't "eat" it as you say, but it does grow through it.
