AFOF wants to case. He is somewhat familar with the process, but he is unsure what is the best way. He plans on growing Amozonian and B+. What are the best casing substratesfor these strains? Thanks for your help...

Straight verm is best for a beginner. Coir is good.

just nuke it for about 10 minutes, or PC it for about 30.

I am sure most will find this to be a stupid question but...if you plan on using the microwave...what is a good container and a good to lid to cover it in the microwave? The reason my friend asks is because metals are not applicable in the microwave...Thanks

those new ziploc containers that are almost tupperwear work pretty good for me. Make sure the top is cracked though so pressure can escape a bit and it doesnt go nuclear!

Don`t nuke verm bro....... it will burn...... it doesn`t need to be sterilized. If you want to make yourself feel better then do a large jar of verm in the PC... but it isn`t necessary

For a small casing I just put about 1-2cups of verm with some water into a tupperware or ziplock container and nuke it for 5mins. If its too dry after the nuke just spray some water on it so that its back to normal. Watch out!!! That container is seriously hot when its done in the microwave. Get a oven mit or something and put it in a cool spot to cool off. If your afraid of contams still, use imediatly with a spoon wiped down with alcohol.

dont use vermiculite to case!!!1 i tryed on my first time and it was too hard to tell the moisture content of it. also it tends to overlay and or get flat and hard surface, in my experience anyway. but go to a pet store get some reptile bedding from t-rex brand its called forest floor, its coco coir and much easier to use. mycilium rips through this shit.
