So does this whole microwave the casing shit work... i have been reading quite a bit about it, but I am a bit skeptical to try it... does any one have the approx. times for a basic case tray. and possibly some more info aboot it... I know that all microwaves will vary, but im just looking for an idea.

A casing mixture (normally peat moss/ vermiculite and lime )may be pasteurised in the microwave for 4 or 5 minutes, covered with saran plastic cling wrap, this is very effective for my friends

For 2 parts casing use 1.5 parts water, or adjust water content to suit your preference

Spore water or honey water maybe sterilsed effectivley in the microwave for 3 mins on high, my friend uses a normal jar with a METAL lid ( I promise you , this does not do any damage to your microwave ). Leave the lid on the jar loosely or punch 1 small hole with a nail in the lid, this enables steam pressure to escape while minimising the water loss. When it has cooled off ,open the microwave , wipe the top( the lid ) with an alcohol dampened tissue , wait a sec for it to evaporate and then tape over the hole, it is a good idea to wipe your hand s and scissors with alcohol and use a dust mask and hair net, close the doors and windows to minimise air flow.

My friend then removes the jar to his sterile work area, , and adds spores, mycelium etc and this has proved to be very reliable
