Does Anyone know Adobe Premiere 6.0?

I am trying to capture some video into premiere, but it keeps saying that it cannot capture or connect to the driver. Where would I be able to find this driver?

I have a newer comp with windows XP HE. Not sure of the brand.(typing this at a friends house)

firewire (IEEE 1394) NTSC

In the case support should be built in, what video device to you have hooked up to the firewire?

All I can think of is to try updating the chipset drivers for your motherboard. If it was prebuilt this shouldn't be necessary, but it's still worth a shot. You'll need to check the specs of your computer to find out what chipset it has, then go to the manufacturer's site (Intel, AMD, nVidia, VIA, SiS, etc.) and look in the support section to get the download.

Yea it was prebuilt.
I was just wondering if there was maybe a website to DL the driver.
BTW I am hooking it up to a sony camcorder(1998-2002?)Digital 8
I was thinking that it could be because I don't have the standard charger hooked up to it, but I DO have a sony charger hooked up to it.

I can't imagine anyone shipping a computer with firewire ports but no drivers. At the same time, Adobe says Premier should work fine without any additional configuration. They do have a list of compatible capture cards, but as far as I know any firewire port should work as long as it's standards-compliant. You could try their advice for non-compliant cards and troubleshooting digital video capture docs.

Well, the thing is that the comp didn't come with a firewire port, I just took one oue of my old Dell. It seemed to work perfectly in that one though.

Thanks for the links bro. Do you know if they have a help-line or something like that.(I downloaded Adobe Premiere, so maybe this is a bad idea, as I didn't have it registered?)

Ooooh you took one out of an old Dell? Well shit bro that's your problem right there. :smile: I'm assuming it's a PCI card that went in one of your expansion slots, and not just a cable you plugged into some random pins on your motherboard? Go to the Dell support page for your old computer and pull up a driver listing. They should have the software for the card there.

I wouldn't call Adobe if you don't have a real license but you could try their Premier Support Forum if you still have issues. I'm pretty sure you just need the right driver from Dell and you'll be good to go, though.
