I need a software developer.

ok pretty much this is the deal... i need someone who can either help me.. or knows someone who can help me.. i have an amazing idea for a PC Game.. which 10 people out of the 10 i have shared the idea with, think it will be amazing.. and im certain.. almost 100% that it will make millions.. its an rpg based off the storyline of Underworld/ Underworld Evolution

any help would be greatly appreciated.. right now its just me.. im looking for a team of developers/ people who can help me elaborate on my ideas and help me get this going!

you'd probably need to clear the copyrights from the studio who owns Underworld, no? And I doubt they'd do that. Why would Sony do that?

actually ive been in touch with Greg Cox the writing of Underworld, and hes expressed that he would have no problem with me doing a game based on the novels, (since my idea is only 2 months old) im still in the beginning stages of getting approval

even without approval.. i could simply change the name of the game, and still launch it.. i mean the story line is similar but u cant copyright all games that involve vampires and lycans

thanks bio... u gave me a better idea

me and my buddy decided that it probably would be better/ easier to change the name and write our own story line.. that way we dont have to do anything to get it approved.. and simply use underworld as a basis for our story

yeah.. i have no knowledge on how to make games at all.. and im anticipating spending atleast 6 months writing both the storyline and guide for my game before i present it to several different devloping companies

heres how to start (from someone who actually does this stuff):

write the entire game story down, in its entirety. followed by a synposis. Then list every character in the game, and their roles.

then list all of the environments, interactive elements, and props.

I would suggest checking out Al Lowe's old game design documents, they are excellent references.

If you are not motivated by profit, but rather the satisfaction of acheivement, then consider an open source project. Lots and lots of free help, if the idea is as good as you claim.

im not motivated by profit however.. financial success for my idea would be great.. mainly like u said, its satisfacation.. creating something that many people will spend hours playing per day..

what exactly is an "open source" project>? like i said.. im completely new to anything of this nature.. just had an idea.. shared it with 12 people now.. and ive only gotten great feedback on what an amazing idea it is.. how it combines elements of online games like none other

No offense man, but everyone thinks they can turn some good book into a fascinating game. Truthfully a talented development team coul turn Toy Story into an amazing game. You have the easiest part in your mind, but to me thats the most irrelevent part in terms of a fun game. I mean the original zelda didnt have a particularly engrossing or interesting storyline. But the characters and gameplay were all perfect.

its not the storyline at all.. thats why it doesnt matter wether i use the storyline from underworld or write my own... its all about the game play and how it combines elements of online games that people like.. storyline is important to me.. but 90% of it is gameplay.. i personally dont get into storylines at all.. i wanna pick it up.. have little background and play
