Anyone work cashier at office depot or best buy, got a question...

If i were to walk into office depot with $1500 cash and buy something do you as a cashier have to notify somoen that i am paying so much in cash. Im tryn to buy a projector that is $1500 and woundering if i should just walk into office depot with the money or should i give it to the bank first and then use my debit card?

Man, people pay for CARS in a lump sum of cash. It's not suspicious. Why is cash suspicious? If someone can afford something like that, then they could easily bring in cash to pay for it. The cashier might have to get someone to go put it inside the safe right away, but that's their problem.

What I would be worried about if I were you is actually carrying around well over $1,500

If you're really worried about it, pay some kid, or a bum, to buy it.

It's not like there's a backdoor out of Best Buy for the person to sneak out of. Sure, it's not without it's risks, but it's better than nothing :shrug:

they dont need to notify anyone unless it is over $10,000.

It is unlawful to carry more than $800 in cash on you without record of where the money came from,,, that is in NY at least.

most places, you pay cash like that and they love you forever because they're on commission. I paid for an 800 dollar keyboard cash. You should have seen the guy's face light up at the music store after he asked me how I planned on paying. Mofo carted the huge ass thing down the street for me and gave me a lecture on not smoking.
