How secure are sertify cashier cheques??

A person in the UK wants to buy some PC stuff off me and said her payment would be a certify cashier cheque. Is this reliable?

Here in the U.S. they're very secure. Almost as good as cash....

If you know where the bank it came from is, it IS as good as cash because it means the money from the bank account is right there on the check. No idea about international stuff though.

was told by my dad he;s been scammed like that before and my cousin just said hes heard lots about people being scammed that way. I asked her for cash, so I'm just wiating for a reply. I might do the cheque thing if it was local, but not international.

there are lots of scams like that going around. He probably aint even from uk. I had a guy try to buy I dog off me like that from uk, I called the bank and traced it back to nigeria.
