Would you believe it, Alcohol -

Actually made me come up with some pretty defining ideas about problems ive been having in my life. Id been drinking snake bites all night, then when i finally laid down, thoughts and ideas came rushing in. I swear i came up with solutions for most of the problems ive had, big and small !. So many infact that i could only handle and remember afew of the ones that were really bothering me before i started drinking. Ive had this before, but it turns out that alcohol can be used to find solutions to some things if used properly at the right time !
Just thought id praise it !!

I thinked so some time ago, but when I go sober, I does not retain nothing about that solutions, they seem to be crazy or stupid.
For me, alcohol only shows me what I want to get but does not allow me to get it.

Alcohol worked wonders for the art and intellect of Ernest Hemingway, Jack Kerouac, Jackson Pollock and Dylan Thomas.
They all turned into sad alcoholics and died in middle age, but while they were alive and drinking they were brilliant.

Snake bites sound good. I know for me, up until beer/shot number 5, alcohol seems to stimulate my mind and let me think more creatively. After that I start getting stupid.

hmmm ill have to find it but i remember readin an article that explained this. Something about this "buffalo theory" where the weakest ones are killed off first which makes the herd more efficient, I guess the same happens to brains cells, and alcohol.

A snake bite where the original poster and myself come from (England) has always been a 50/50 mixture of beer and cider. The drink dates back hundreds of years, well before Christopher Columbus even 'discovered' America.

lmao in my search to find the article i found a quote that takes away all the scientific fact behind it.
Quote:
Buffalo Theory as explained by Cliff Clavin, of Cheers.
One afternoon at Cheers, Cliff Clavin was explaining the Buffalo Theory to his buddy Norm. Here's how it went: "Well ya see, Norm, it's like this... A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members. In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, as we know, kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers."

I know man, ive only just seen this now. Think i wrote this when i was pissed ages ago. I still say it's right though, it was a phase i was going through i think. I got in the habit of having a pen and paper ready so i could write any sparks/ideas down. Then i'd wake up in the morning feeling guilty reading through all i'd written, realizing that tho i should be following what i wrote, on being sober i really couldn't be bothered

I like this theory, i do usually feel bright in mind the day after a good drinking session. Even though i feel like shit my brain is on top form ! Maybe that's why, .
Those snake bites are alot stronger than drinking either of them separately, we have pubs and bars around here that won't even serve them because they're known for making people aggressive. It swings the other way though and you can be high as fuck and have a great night.
