Chances are, if your on myspace, you name is Taylor or Tyler (guy or girl), your favorite accessory is a scarf, you strive to have atleast one jacket/coat which is unique (to anyone in your area), use hair gel, and have atleast one tattoo or peircing and constantly talk about Myspace, or try to tell people about "OMG, I am like, So addicted to Myspace, Like I spend hours on it, it is like, so addicting.... OMG, I love this song, turn it up, Modest Mouse is the shit!"

Lol, had agirlfriend that was into myspace, after having sex, she said i need to check my myspace, like right after...then i had a talk the next day "well, you see, you never want to try psychedelics, and i think thats something about me you will never understand, maybe its time we see other people"

I hate it...but its kinda cool to search for funky kick ass bands. Its rare though.

In all my searching for worthy music, Ive found maybe 2-3 from myspace. So Im going with 98% - 97% crap.

hated myspace before that gf, just making a point, it can be a strange addiction, and sweet jesus, that just creeped me out. Anywho, i do like modest mouse, i have them on vinyl and on mah computer, I'm not saying i don't like the scene commonly associated with it, and i think that this really is the new counter-culture, I mean, a large portion of the previous generation either doesn't understand or care about myspace outside of marketing analysis, and cool shit can be happening there, I thought this would be an appropriate topic to rile(sp?) people up, and I was right, people being critical of this thread are confusing me, if you don't care, or at least say we shouldn't, why post. Thats to you post haters.

On to topic, It saddens me that an entire generation could possibly become social only through the internet, sure lol and stfu are great and I use them all the time, but it shows more of language degredation through impatience, as nietzsche said, "the american disease is even spreading to europe, they have a passion for continuaos action, they can't just sit and enjoy their coffee, they have to have their coffee and read their paper, they are destroying en vita contempliva by always doing something, any time they take in silence they ungracefully sprawl themselves out and think about what they are going to do tommorow." not exact wording, but pretty close. I think this is true of the internet in general (I type at 1 in the morning rather than drawing on my piece) and yes I am a hypocrite, but fsk, at least I know I'm an idiot. Like I mentioned, the myspace generation is full of "individuality" and all that bull crap, but personally, with a couple billion people in the world, I'm sure there are a couple others out there that are just like me in almost every virtual sense. I think internet socializing is great, but for some reason get that myspace is pushing for conformity through its advertising and whatnot. I mean, if i look around i see clothes ads and cellphone ads. Actually, this is one reason the shroomery is never my preferred spot, advertising. i see it almost every waking moment of my day, and sometimes i feel like i'm insane. should i just like this and be quiet like everyone else, but then i was raised that apeasers think that feeding a lion steak every day will make them a vegetarian. wow, tangent tangent tangent, and for the dead heads :wink: I'm typing to beyond-purple light right now, yah, i shouldn't be typing...back to the drawing...

some people on myspace are pretty creepy. this girl in my friends list IM'd me one day saying the 'guy she was seeing' took her out of his top eight list and she was feeling self-destructive and thought she might do something she'd regret. now this is an stranger pretty much, and a 20 year old 'adult'. very sad.

on the other hand myspace is great for keeping up with the local music scene and for finding old friends you've lost contact with. that's what i use it for. me and my friends mostly use it for that and to creep people out with bizarre mock racist/homosexual blogs and blurbs. we entertain ourselves i guess. :shrug:

I guess we can't really fully black or white myspaace, guess i'm gonna concede to gray here...and damnit, im not even a moderate :frown: its a sad day in my world but its also time for bed in my world, so maybe not sad, anywho, for quoting him so much nietzsche was for a fluid person compared to one who didn't change his beliefs...fuck, but why don't other people change too :frown:

i have mixed feelings about myspace.
for the record i DO have a myspace,
& it serves my purposes perfectly.
to keep in contact with people i know, ppl ive met,
as well as meeting new females. :wink:
now i dont actively go chickhunting on there.
i dont have time for that shit.
i just wait it out for them to find me =]
effortless. i swear. haha
im going out wednesday night with a gurl
ive met strictly from myspace.
we've hung out twice already,
shes' really nice, smart, goddess beautiful, & a little shy.
what im tryin to say, is that
there isnt a stereotype of people on myspace, really.
there is all types of differnet people on there,
all on there own pages in life, just like there
are in real life.

what DOES bother me are the people who spend
ALL day & night on there, replacing
human interaction with cyber entertainment.
that is NOT healthy.
the same could be said about some people here
posting on the shroomery.
maybe it bothers me because i was once guilty of it
& know how damaging it really is.
