Hey guys,
I know there are some posts showing the use of a radio shack hygrometer , model #63-1031. However, when calling around to all 8 radio shacks in a 20 mile radius, and finally finding one with that model, the damn thing ONLY had a temperature reading.
Here is the one that I have seen people use here: (and the one I want!!)
http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=&product%5Fid=63%2D1031
For some reason, their SAME model # at the store had only temp, and not humidity.
So, I wanted to know if anyone could point me in the right direction on getting a good hygrometer with capabilities on withstanding a rH of 90%+. I know there are a lot of people who are in need of this very important tool for cultivating mushrooms. The dial ones that you get at the pet shop DONT work if you haven't already figured that out.
Any info would be greatly appreciated...thankyou.
peace.

An analog hygrometer with a calibration screw works very good once calibrated.

I was thinking of buying a hygrometer, but what's the point when they only measure up to 80-85% humidity? I try to keep my shroom chamber humid enough that there's "just a little bit" of condensation, but not so much that the walls are actually sweating. I would have been interested to put a number to the humidity in my chamber, but I guess it's not too important.

Analog hygrometers measure the entire range.

You should get a hyghrometer with an calibration screw.
If it doesn?t have one though, you can stil undergo the calibration procedure and remember its offset and add or deduct this offset when measuring humidity.
