Road trip to Oregon's Coast.

On the 7th of April, I'll be leaving from Reno, Nevada, to the Coast of Oregon. I'll be taking 395 to Susanville, then working my way over to 5, and taking that up, staying in ashland for a night, and heading to the coast to take photos.
Is anyone around that area? It'd be fun to meet up with fellow shroomerites, as well as get directions to good photo ops, and perhaps a few mushie patches.

I am not from there but I did travel to there.
The coast is very nice. If you have time, check out the Sea Lion caves. There are hundreds of Sea Lions that hang out on the beach and in a big cave. There are also tons of little public beaches along the ocean to check out too.
Eugene is a hip little town near the coast.
As I remember, the town of Astoria has some special kind of shroom that only grows there. Look it up in the archives.

Ok, i live in eugene, would highly recomen PASSING through, nothing interesting here til summer, tilamook, all they have is cheese, i would most def PASS through there. Astoria, i believe, deserves special mention, they have a great local theatre, check it out, and if you p.m. me, or whatever it is you do here. anywho, there is a beautiful set of trails, and ask about the jetty on the beach, so beautiful to leap from boulder to boulder with the beautiful pacific crashing and roaring beneath your feet. And not only that, you will most definetely see sea lions there, in fact that is how i recommend finding your way if you get lost there, follow sea lion calls to beach and then work back up to jetty or town. Also, I don't believe those wonderful Astorian mushrooms, Liberty Caps I believe they are called(forgive me for lack of "correct" name), are in season right now, I think that would more mid summer through late fall, unless i'm an idiot and all those times going up there a specific time of year is my uninformed belief based on locals yarns....meh.
**edited to say that i believe all of oregons beaches are public property due to the ferverent republican that helped form our state into the "unraped" beauty it is today, at least until california starts liking us more....

I love the Oregon coast! Check out the Rogue brewery in Newport (their Imperial Stout is by far one of my all time favorite beers) and the Sand Dunes National Monument is insane! Also check out Cannon Beach and the huge monolith, and just south of there Oswald West State Park is quite possibly the most beautiful beach on earth. The Astoria bridge is 4 miles long connected OR and WA and is quite impressive. Eugene is pretty chill, so is Corvallis. Go for a drive in the Williamette valley, near the river. It's gorgeous!
Have fun, and be sure to report back!
