I find it quite humorous when they have someone that can't sing, and entertaining when they can....    :shrug:

That's why only the first few episodes of the season are worth watching honestly. It's the disparity in talent and the judge's reactions that is entertaining. After the "any idiot" phase passes, it's kinda dumb.

Also, that which is well crafted is often entertaining, but that which is entertaining needs not be of quality.

I don't find American Idol threatening or that amusing. But I only watch it when I'm in a bad mood. I put the songs on mute and only unmute for the judges comments. Something about seeing young dreams crushed into oblivion makes me feel better about myself.

In fact that's probably why the show is so successful. So we can all feel good about ourselves by watching other people feel poorly. Sick, in a way. But still entertaining.

Eeeehhh, different strokes for different folks....  I do agree with the "any idiot" phase being more fun to watch....  :thumbup:

I don't watch the show when someone gets kicked off, to me that part is a waste of time and boring....  And I don't care who wins....

I like seeing how some of the people's styles develop - or flop.....

Anytime I think my life is shit, I flip on Jerry and it cheers me up just knowing that I don't have it quite so bad afterall....  :wink:

i think the show is dogshit. ive watched it maybe twice. i did like howard stern playing the really shitty people on his show and goofing on it

to each their own.. I like listening to the ppl sing, watch maybe a true start blossom. Kelly Clarkson did quite well! but its not something I tune it to every week. The only shows I watch religiously are Survivor and Family Guy. haha
