Wax Dust, Stuck AA PC Lid, Wet Spawn, LC Jar Lids, Paper Towels...
    #5431444 - 03/22/06 07:17 PM (17 years, 10 months ago)

Alright, I've got a bunch of questions, so here goes: Does anyone else get what looks like little airborn pieces of wax when they pull the tin foil off of there jars after PC'ing them? Becasue I was doing a g2g today with 14 jars (got a new All American!) and I had little white things floating all around.
Do these spawn jars look okay?

They're really wet, the mycelium is water logged. Should I just try and case them?
Would it be okay to use a jar and lid, like the one pictured above, to grow a LC in, if I planned to use it all at once, like take off the top and pour it? I had it work in one jar and fail in two.
And is anyone else using this many paper towels?

My sterile precedure involves washing my hands and turning off the water with a paper towel. Is that overkill?

I like to take a hot shower, hot as I can stand it, put on clothes fresh out of the dryer then sanitize again with hand sanitizer (after having lysoled the sanitizer pump, of course, just cuz I'm anal). Probably overkill, but wtf, the cleaner the better, right?
