I've been thinking about finally getting a pressure cooker, and thought I'd ask what brands and capacities were considered good. And hopefully something doesn't cost too much

Wow, that sounds like a really good buy; I looked on amazon and some of them are $200 plus, and I'm not really sure what a good capacity would be, but I'm sure the one you described would handle plenty of jars. Thanks.

you can fit 12 half pint jars in the 12qt pc, or 10 full pint jars.it does the trick and it's cheap, i would get a big pc cause it's rly is alot of work to do 4 jars at a time you'll be cooking all week.i just throw a dozen jars in there and i'm done for a few weeks.

I just lucked up and got a 15.5 qt Presto for free. It holds 24 1/2 pint, 10 pint, or 7 quart jars. I found it in a warehouse my Mom and Dad had. They were getting ready to sell off everything inside and called me up and told me to see if I wanted anything out of it first.

I ordered a VERY VERY old All American PC for less then $30 after shipping on eBay. This thing has to be older then all my friends combined (all mid-20's). Regardless, you can order all replacement parts off of AA's site, pretty cheap too.
If you do end up buying an old AA PC, get a new pressure gauge.. then your good to go.

I got MIrro 8qt and it holds 10 1/2 pint jars which is all i would ever need. I got it at WAL-MART for 30 bucks brand new! It just depends on how many jars you plan on doing or how much patience you have.
