Carb hole vs. pull slide

Ive always prefered a slide over a carb. I think its a lot better. but ive read some posts on here before and a lot of people say they wished they had a shotgun hole or carb on their bong. why?

Personally I like both... The advantage of a carb though is that it take less coordination to use. Often I see less experienced smokers clumsy when it comes to sliders.

so you dont have to touch that hot bowl in order to hit it...some people smoke out of metal the bowl gets super hot...glass too if you dont got a good slider piece.Dosnt matter, to me xprience is key when working with different bongs just hold that shit " dont drop like it's hot...

hmm I have never seen a metal slider before... I guess heat would be a problem with it... if you got a glass bowl heat shouldn't be a problem at all.

In the two months I've had my pull slide bong, I've broken about 7 bowls. I do prefer the pull slide, but I'm so damn clumsy with them when I'm stoned. With a carb, I don't have to worry about breaking it.

i don't think i've ever dropped a slide...

i miss the hole a lot but i don't usually let it drop.

I've never dropped one, either. I'll either stick it in my pocket for whatever reason, and pull it out in a million peices, or I'll step on it. When I take it places with me, I don't like leaving it in the bong because it always breaks =/.

I guess my only option is to bring my cheap plastic one with me, and leave my glass one at home.

i see, heat is a factor sometimes, i have never broken a bowl, but it feels like the pull slides hit harder and faster and to me thats a big advantage.

how long are you blazing the bowl...heat has never been a problem for me.

i do love that rush of air with a slider.. my vote goes for that :o

Are you buying those cheap ass glass slides that come for free with the bong? Those things break if you look at them the wrong way.

If you are buying those, you should spend the $15-30 on a quality glass slide that wont break as easily.

i dont have a preferance for either... my first nice bong was glass with a carb. dont ask why, but i like how you dont hear the bubbles when taking a carb hit  :shrug:.... but slides are easier to clean. so theres +'s for both

I'd much rather smoke a slide bong than a carb bong.

like someone else said, the air just shoots in, plus, easier for maintenence, cleaning, etc.

Rarely do i a see a bong with a carb.

We always use some sort of glass bong tho.  All glass bongs ive seen have pull slide(tons :smile:).

Pull slide is better in my opiniion
