the java client may not be working for you, use an IRC client like mIRC (www.mirc.com) and connect to irc.shroomery.org port 6667

i have mirc too, i cant get in :frown: i even tried port 9999

using mirc, you'd have to connect on port +9999 for openssl to be used.
