The new applet is the one we're going to be using. The old applet was specific to the software we were using at the time. This one is the easiest one I've found to setup and connect to. If you're having problems, let me know and try to send as specific info as possible. As for IP's... on this irc server, all ips are masked from when you sign on. Later.------------------

Even if I say pretty please?I guess I don't mean the IP is reported, but when you enter/leave chat information is given about your internet connection (it gives some address of my modem pool..). This isn't too horrible, but for some paranoid types it seems unnecessary.

It doesn't give your exact IP address. It masks some (i don't remember how much) with shroomery-xxxxx where xxxxx is a random number. This can't be used to track you down. You may see your own IP address in the window, but no one else will be able to. If, at some point, a better applet becomes available, we'll switch to that, until then, this is what we've got.
