i got a puppy!

i got her saturday afternoon. she's quite a dog.

very timid at first (as expected), but now she's a ball of energy.

her name is piper, and she's 6 1/2 weeks old.

very neat dog. half shar-pei, half beagle. this is a mix i've never even heard of, and quite frankly thought would be ugly as sin.... but i just fell in love with her.

what do you think?

yeah there is major crease-age on the forehead when she's mildly interested in anything. it's very cute.

i was way way into basenjis when i was looking for a dog. however this litter popped up (the secretary of my department had a dog who had 8 'accidents'). like i say, shar-pei/beagle sounds not so good but when i saw them i fell in love!

she looks like she's all beagle, with half the wrinkles and all the coloring of a shar-pei.

best mix i could have (SO FAR SO GOOD- i have only had her 48+ hours). she is a howler tho and very vocal. thank gods i live alone in a house with a good backyard. it hasn't gotten old yet. just when i'm asleep is it annoying, but she'll grow out of that.
