 question on grow chambers

im planning on birthing my cakes very soon..i got a question...in some teks it says to cover sides of the growchamber .i am using a light. isnt the light only used for pinning and to make them grow towards the light? would i need to cover my sides or will the light keep them growing strait.im not planning on casing anytime soon and i know that you have to cover them on casings. but is it ok with cakes to leave them clear if u are using a flourscent light thats about 5 feet overhead(a very low watt )i also keep the room dark(my spare bedroom)and no one goes in there.i only plan on keeping a light on a few hours each day.

It will, only, you shrooms might not grow straight up. However, the never seem to on a cake.
