become more difficult to download to the hard drive? If I click on an mp3 download, it opens a tab and plays. if I right click and save, it doesn't even give the file an extension. This is annoying.

are you using FireFox?

If so, try

Tools->Options->Downloads and click on "View and Edit" actions
Find the one for MP3, click "Change Action", and have it save to computer.

Note, thats for firefox 1.5
