This post has probably already been done... but who's going? Tool, Depeche Mode, Massive Attack, Swayzak, Atmopshere, Black Start (i think), The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, etc...

It's nothing (this lineup) compared to the past (although attendance has gone from 20k people to 100,000 in just a few years)... i the past it reunited iggy and the stoogesm the chili peppers, had the beasties, NIN, radiohead, interpol.. the list goes on.. look at the previous lineups on that bad boy and grab a napkin for all the drool.
Camping there is quite interesting.. its like Woodstock meets a concentration camp.
It's like bonaroo.. but without the whiney ass hippies and crappy bands that sound like the stuff my grandma listened to.

yeah, I be the experience is quite different from the roo.
I like INtepol and tool and The Cure and Massive Attack way more than I like most of the bands coming to roo this year.
I might have to really delve into this thig you have so nicely turned me onto.
What are th people like, I wouldn't want to be sitting around tripping somethin special being who I am when fucked up if it was a bunch of angry freaksters. Not that there is anything wrong with them, I am one myself, just incognito and especailly not when around tripping people.
Is the vibe cool?

I'm going the first day to see (in order of most favorite to least):
1.) Sigur Ros (I'll be shrooming to this performance. I'm currently trying to figure out how I'm gonna get the lil stools in with me. Though I had no problem bringin' e-pills in to the '04 show but I'm blabbering.)
2.) Daft Punk (I've gotta see these guys live once before I die. It's just gonna suck in the tent and not rolling, pro'lly just be bobbin' my head somewhere near an exit. Those tents get pretty bad smelling with all the shtuff humans excrete.)
3.) And Depeche Mode (why not eh? They probably won't play black celebration or any of their real early poppy shit that I like.)
And though I've never talked to either of them, I hope to catch, outta the corner of my eyes maybe, OneMoreRobot and Aninator. They, to me seem to be like the Cliff Clavins and whatnot of the Shroomery and I'd feel like I'm seeing celebrities in real life.
Anyway, Peace.

AniNator won't be there, but I will.
I already bought my plane tickets and I'm on the verge of getting hooked up with VIP passes again.

So far it looks like I'll be there with VIP tickets for both days.
As for who I'm going for:
Massive Attack Daft Punk Atmosphere She Wants Revenge Oakenfold Hybrid
And I will probably see Depeche Mode and Franz Ferdinand if they don't conflict with any of the above.

aught four was a good one.
Did you see that girl running around yelling "SOMEONE GIVE ME SOME E" by the radiohead stage? It was a few bands before them I think. She was really obvious. I laughed.

There's a girl there every year with a beautiful Joy Division tattoo, just very nicely written letters across her shoulders "Love Will Tear Us Apart."

Which reminds me, them and bauhaus kicked serious ass. Really good show. It was also last year I think that I saw this pregnant lady, wearing nothing but a bikini and short shorts. But she was like a goddess, perfect skin and drop dead gorgeous. Was funny to see her walk by, constant cat-calls (mostly good natured).
Lots of fun people watching to do at coachella.

Bauhaus bored the FUCK out of me. But New Order was fantastic, and it was nice that they dipped into the Joy Division back catalog.

I'll have to look for her. If she's anywhere near as beautiful as that song, she'd easily be fodder for my nocturnal emissions.

The opening sold me. How the hell he could sing that whole song while upside down is beyond me. It kinda went downhill from there a little bit since that's my favorite song of their's. I still really enjoyed it.
You're right though, it was good to hear some JD stuff. It's like when morrissey bothers to do some smiths stuff. Good times (if you're a fan obviously hah).
