I'm really sick of the "trippin balls" attitude
    #5302785 -

You know how it is.
"This movie is so great when you're trippin balls!"
"man I ate those shrooms and I tripped balls!"
"God we were so fucked uP! trippin balls man!"
"naw man, I only listen to that when I'm trippin balls"
"man we played Halo while trippin balls and it rocked!!!11"
etc.

There's no rules governing psychedelics but people can be really lame sometimes. I've committed more than my fair share of tripping balls attitude but I look back on it and it was a huge waste of money/psychedelics/mental health/etc

I think that mentality comes from those who dabble with psychedelics/entheogens and only use the minimal amount to get high and thus do not realize the full-on potential of these substances. I remember Mckenna said something regarding those who have consumed entheogens and were not all that impressed: "the difference is like those who say they've been to France - some people have been in the Paris airport for a few hours and others have lived their for ten years and married the locals." With that being said, I think those who have had full experiences do not succumb to the "trippin ballz" attitude nor do they have a need to brag.

so what are you saying??? that people who use that term dont really know what psychadelics can be used for?? that they just use them for visuals and not the spiritual experience... i think those people are just not that experienced and arent very smart in the first place, so who cares... live and let live...

While I see where you're coming from and agree with you, it's only to a point. Because there are definitely moments during trips when the only thing I can think is "Wow, I am tripping my face off."

Some people just use psychedelics for purely recreational or for entertainment. I have no problem with people who do this. It's no more or less legitimate than people using drugs for "spiritual" purposes.

I agree with ^^^^^^^

While its often a good thing to go into a trip with the idea that your going to rip down some mental walls or reformat your hard drive, that sometimes breaks down upon the trip ramping up.

Pretty hard to figure out why the fuck your so damned depressed all the time when your hanging onto the arms of your chair trying not to get sucked into that whirlpool that is suddenly spinning around in the middle of your living room floor.

If it is life that you feel you are missing I can tell you where to find it.  In the law courts, in business, in government.  There is nothing occurring in the streets. Nothing but a dumbshow composed of the helpless and the impotent.    -Cormac MacCarthy

Personally, I try not to have any specific intentions going into a trip. Most of my spiritual trips just happened by accident.

i've had alot of fun tripping balls.

what do you have against the phrase? is it because it implys that someone is tripping more for fun than some mystical psychedelic spiritual meaning?

ha well you know what terrance mckenna says about language. would you guys like it more if someone just made gibberish elf noises to express how they feel instead of declaring how hard they're tripping?
