what is the best way to culture a mushroom that you see collect in the forest withough taking a spore print and germinating spores?
can a tissue sample be taken and transfered to agar/liquid media?

Yup, carry some peroxidated agar slants and a bottle of diluted peroxide with you. Cut a piece from inside the base of the stem. Hold the tissue sample with a pair of forceps, needle, or the like. Pour the peroxide over, and then drop it in the peroxidated agar slant.

You can get by just dropping a piece of the stem in the slant, but I used to wash it first anyway.

PM me with any cultivation questions.

I just looked at my profile and realized I had a website at one point in time on geocities, it's not there anymore and I have no idea what I had on it. Anybody remember my website from several years aga? PM if so please.

gracias. would this work for other fungi, not mushrooms alone? i assume yes given the fungi like the nutrient media you supply.
