Ruining DVDs

Does anybody know how i can fuck up a DVD without making any marks or anything on it? I ordered a DVD and it fucking sucks and i want my money back, but once it's been opened the supplier wont refund or replace it unless it's faulty. So i wanna make it faulty. But i cant just go scratching it up cuz that would be my fault and i wouldn't get a refund...

Would perhaps a strong magnet work or something?

Magnet, microwave will actually make the plastic coating on the bottom crack and frazzle.

Generally, the "damaged" clause only applies to the exchange option. You're gonna end up with another copy of the same bad movie.  :grin:

magnet will destroy a VHS tape, elecrtical systems, TV screens, etc. not a DVD or CD.
a magnet will have zero effect.
i suggest painting the bottom with a transparent finish. one thick enough to interfere with reading, but not thick enough to be detectable to the eye.
also, if the DVD came in a case, with an inventory control tab, you can always peel the tag off and stick it to the underside of the disk, say it was like that when you opened it. it will leave some glue residue on the disk making it unreadable.

however, they may simply give you another copy of the same DVD.

there really is no way to fuck up the data on a DVD withought leaving a visable trace.

but more likely than not you can expect them to offer you another copy.

return the "other copy" a week later to a different customer service rep, unopened for a refund or store credit.

i'd take a pin, and just carefully scratch the printed side, just a prick, preferably where it will be least noticed... make sure it's big enough to leave a void.
