What's a fair price for DVDs
    #5353550 - 03/01/06 01:11 PM (17 years, 10 months ago)

An aquaintence was watching my bootleg DVDs one day when he told me he'd pay me for movies.. since I have now learned how to copy DVDs with the menu and everything.. he told me to just make a price. We didn't discuss pricing one bit.

I'm burning him seasons 1-5 of the Sopranos..

What is fair? And how much for a rip of a commercial DVD is fair? I have no clue here...

I mean I'm no really concerned about "hooking him up"..he isn't really a friend, and he isn't poor..

What do you mean? I should charge him the price of a DVD-r?

I'd pay the cost of a dual-layer DVD-R.

Single layer copies lose too much quality for my liking.

Burners are cheap nowadays, if the guy is willing to pay then charge him.

$10 a season.

He's probably has never done anything good for you, so don't do anything special just for him. If he doesn't like your prices, he can go to the store and buy them.

4 bucks a disc sound fair
strange thing is thiers ethics to the pirate game
people put thier life and well being on the line
to keep information free and readily available
they dont make any money from it , they do it out of love of the game
so gounging people is a dick move
not saying you do that or anything Boom , just stating a point.

Yeah, I agree, I like hooking up my close friends for free, with basically whatever they want. And as Redstorm said, I'm not trying to do anything nice for him.. I'm trying to sell shit at a price that he'll pay (I'm broke until I get my tax refund)

It's 4 discs for each season.. I'd say minimum of $10 per season sounds right

The complete set goes for over $300. I'd get $80-$100.

Sometimes, what I do for friends, is get them to go get the movies,
and buy some blanks, then I will do the work for them, and get some free movies for myself.
