I never thought that rural western North Carolina would be a cool place to trip but then I go to thinking... I live with 15 mins of the eastern Cherokee Indian Reservation (the rez!) and there are all sorts of crazy "things" running around over there. The most well known around here are the little people. Not midgets, but little indians that only the cherokee can see. They come out of the woods and play with kids, talk to old people, and just do weird shit in general. I have several Indian friends who have seen them or have family members that have seen them. Another scary thing that hangs around the rez are called the lights. They can be seen on the side of a uninhabited mountain from an overlook adjacent to the ridge where they form. I have seen these things. They start at the top of the ridge and flash sporadically all over the side of the mountain. While the lights are flashing it's not uncommon to hear "stompdances" being performed down in the valley below the overlook. Tripping here is a no no. I doubt that anyone here or anywhere could keep from wigging. Well, anyone but me.

Great stuff! It reminds me of my father who talked to an indigenous Australian about what are called the 'minmin' lights - which are like UFOs - they have a very interesting story about those - but i cant remember it (sorry)
