mushrooms after frost.....

okay, so it frosted over yesterday and today, i went to one of my patches adn there were a bunch of what looked like healthy mushies, but i'm not too sure. instead of having the nice chestnut brown color on top, they were lighter like they get when it hasn't rained in a while. they weren't all black/blue like they looked after it snowed about a week ago. after it snowed, a nice new set of pins came up that looked healthy, but i just wanted to know if this frost would effect the potency. they still bruised blue in the spot i picked them, no extensive bluing anywhere else, just looking a little dry...

the frost will not effect the potency, aside from the possibility of very slight diminishment if they have repeatedly frozen and thawed. you will probably not notice it, i don't.

just be sure they are psilocybes.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.

i'm 100% positive they are cyanescens, i've been picking them in the same spot sll season, but usually when i dry them, the gills are a very dark color. in this batch, when dried all of the gills were very pale, almos white. what does this mean if anything?

that they dropped most of their spores, i've had cubes with near white gills, they just dropped the spores, just make sure all other characteristics fit them tho as well, if so, then they just dropped their spores
