I dont think it was 'banned'.
I dont think it was /ever/ meant for TV.

I think we will start to see alot more 'banned', or 'never released' commericals get "magically leaked out onto the internet". Why pay TV stations big bucks to air commericals, when you can leak it onto the net and have a zillion sites start showing it, as everyone and their friend links the movie to their friends, gets forwraded along in email chains/etc.

Its not banned - just highly effective and cheap advertising :smile:

yeah you are right. might as well just leave it to the net, it will get its way around. the teens will view it the most and the parents wont. unlike the tv.

Xbox 360 actually has some commercials that I don't mind watching. Have yall seen the jump rope one? That do some wild stuff in their.

It also creates a captive audiance.

When commericals air on TV - people flip stations, channel surf, go up to goto the bathroom or get a snack, or start talking with their friends and dont pay attention to them. Combine that with TiVO, or downloading TV shows - and there is a big chance to simply not get watched.

But, someone links it on the internet - the person who clicks the link is bound to sit there and watch it start to finish /atleast/ once.

Then, they think "oh cool!", and send it to their friends on MSN/AIM/Yahoo, or re-post it onto message boards.

These people then click, watch start to finish, think "oh neat", and forward it to even more people, who watch it start to finish.

And all they needed to spend was money on the cost of production of the commerical, and not needing to pay bucketloads of advertising fees.

Viral Marketing, when done well - is rather neat :smile:

least thats my theory

and, even if it was banned? it'd be banned because of the gun violence in it (even if its just finger pointing and people saying bang).

But, IMO - wasnt banned, just a fine example of viral marketing.
You're also bound to get alot more people clicking the link for a "banned" commerical then "ooh, neat xbox commerical".
