The Viel

In growing whats this viel ive heard about? Something like you wait for it to come but not between so and so times? and you remove it? plz explain

The veil is like a whitish tissue that connects the cap to the stem. It keeps the spores sterile and safe. When the cap opens, it tears the veil. This is when its prime for harvest.

With some sporeraces the veil is persistant with others it breaks very early
