why white rice for sclerotia as opposed to brown?

most posts and webpages talking about sclerotia talk about growing on white rice. is there a reason no to grow on brown. an pros/cons. all i can think of is there is a harder husk on some brown rice i have seen.
otherwise why not brown it has more nutrients.
does anybody add extra nutrients to their sclerotia substrates

I don't really think it matters. People use grass seed for instance.

I think it's just personal preferance/ease of obtaining white rice. Sclerotia actually are stimulated by excess nutrition, so brown in theory should be better than white. I don't think it really matters, I've seen people use both. Usually which one depended on whether they had been raised on BR ala PF or if they came to mycology from a different angle then they use white. I really don't think it matters though.

well i have 3 types (brands) of brown and 3 types of white rice ready to go so i will see which turns out best. all prepared the same 1kg rice with 1300ml water.
i thought it strange since in the PF tek it always mentions how important it is to get brown rice flour due to the extra nutrients, mycofile must be right about people coming from a "different angle"

Did you come to any conclusion regarding brown vs white for sclerotia? (yes I know how old this thread is, but since it is an active user who posted it...)

Came to no conclusion, I have not used rice since. But my blood soaked RGS is doing a bit better than my straight RGS
