I can talk and argue on this all day but even post black album they had kickass shit. What about hero of the day? That song is amazing. What about S&M?? That shit kicked ass! - No one gives them due credit.

Is trying to make a living selling out? Their music changed because thats what people seemed to be buying at the time so their producer pushes them towards that style. They really have nothing to loose because their hardcore fan base will still support them and buy the record and go to the shows and they get to sell records to the teeny boppers because they sound like lincoln park. One thing I heard lars say once which is true is they can book a concert anytime anywhere in the world and that fucker will not have one empty seat in the house.

My favorite albums are ..and justice for all and Master of puppets..
But I never got into them after the black album, that one sucked.and the ones after that did too, except for a few songs on Load and Reload.
But I like Megadeth better still..
But I admit I was into them when i was younger, now I listen to a lot more variety of music by far.

metallica could be pretty good... their instrumentals are in the "right" direction for my tastes and exhibit good talent and creativity... and in particular "my friend of misery" is a sweet song ........

but..... overall I have grown to find them bland and cheesy without much substance .....

I used to be big into them when I just started listening to rock music.... and I own in some way shape or form all their albums..... but.... after St. Anger I've lost all faith in them.... and then they went and toured with LP and LB ... ugh.

and justice for all is good
master of puppets is good
ride the lightning is sort of good
black album is sort of good
the rest aren't to my liking very much...

notable exceptions go to outlaw torn and bleeding me .....

They could've stayed more along the lines of their original albums and still have done just as good, if not better than when they went all out comerical and mainstream. Even if their producers wanted them to go in a more mainstream direction they could've ignored them and stayed true to their roots.

The crap they put out now, is just garbage and hype, and people will continue to buy it just because it has their names pasted all over it.

yeah, but i don't think people will continue to enjoy it, except for complete and total diehard fans.

i mean i'd buy a new album or at least sample it if one came out right now, just to see if they've gone in a better direction.

Cliff was the man.

Actually all of the band members were badasses around the time that the first 3 albums were released.
