Liquid Mycellium contam?
    #487139 - 12/11/01 07:39 AM (21 years, 11 months ago)

These were knocked up on 11-8. They have been in a dark, 81 deg F environment since. At night they get down to about 72 deg or so. So are these growths floating in there contams or what? Thanks for having a look...

I know it isn't the best pic and the subject matter is mighty small and etherial but maybe someone who's done this before can tell from them.

Nice jar!
Sorry, it's all i can tell after seeing those pics.
BTW, you don't specify what the liquid medium is made of.

Peace,

hmm....
caramelized possibly?
AFOAF has some honeywater brewing, has some small stuff floating around the bottom, but you never know until you let it grow out significantly. Just wait till its a no brainer.

The two little fuzzys are mycellium. AFOAF put 7 drops of Hydrogen Peroxide in and threw it in the fridge. If I know him he's gonna play it safe and knock up just one jar and play the waiting game..

For what it's worth.. a friend has some dextrose-water on the go, and the mycelial growth in it looks like frog eggs almost... small solid cores with fluffy mycelium around them... it's all white pretty much, but very whispy.. jars have been innoculated with this solution, and they are looking great thus far.. 25% colonized in about 5-6 days... I'll letcha know if contams rear their ugly head before it hits 100%

Hammer,

How long after innoculation before your friend had signs of colinazation?

I had a typographical error, the honey was innoculated on 12-08
