If this war was conducted properly, it would be all over by now....
but we must fight this "PC" war...and let our troops die slowly, day by day......either let our military run at 100% operationally, or get the fuck out of there!!!!!!!!!!

We suffered so many more deaths in the first day of WW2...but with technology today...this war could have been over already with 1/5th as much dead.

What would you suggest we do differently?

Actually run a war.....part of the problem is the whole "insurgent" argument. There is going to be the lose of Innocent life...thats why they call it war.

Wars have fronts. And have active search and destroy missions(whether it be infantry or mechanized) in which you engage the enemy. Iraq teeters on the edge of this. We have countless troops, being held out like targets. They only react, when a bomb goes off. When they should have serious firepower, and active combatant missions.

How do you determine who's an insurgent and who's an innocent civilian?

1.Point a barrel of a M16A2 service rifle at any potential insurgent.

2. If any hostile action is taken (example:sudden moves for a weapon)
shoot to kill

3. If after a search, no weapons have been found, ID person for future reference

The above action will only be successful, IF THE IRAQ BORDER IS CLOSED. The biggest problem is not having Syria and Iran, the fuck out of this...

So basically, you're saying we should institute a police state?

What did we do to Germany in WW2? The point is, that during war, it is pure chaos.

In order to protect the citizenry and our troops, civil liberates will have to be taken away, on a temporary basis, until things conclude. Would there be any more "car bombs", if people were restricted on driving vehicles? Does this suck for the average Iraqi? YES. Will this take away a major attack tactic, of the insurgents? YES

We certainly didn't follow your suggestion. After the war ended, the insurgency was rather weak. Our main directive there was the de-Nazification of the population through re-education(propaganda).

Isn't the war supposed to be over?

It's not just a matter of civil liberties. It's a matter of logistics and practicality. ANY Iraqi can be a potential insurgent. If we followed your advice, it would mean pointing a gun at EVERY SINGLE IRAQI. Sorry, but we just don't have enough troops or resources to do that.

Your wrong on many levels.

1. If you dont think we kept a pseudo - police state in Germany, you need to read your history.

2. The war is not over, I never said it was. I provided information on how TO END IT. I first stated that the war WAS NOT conducted properly.

3. Every single Iraqi is not an insurgent. Once word got around that these sweeps of insurgent infected towns are taking place....they would either scare those to leave or they would die in the process. The US military has the capability, GIVEN IF THE ROPE WAS CUT FROM AROUND THEIR NECKS

Hate to bring up yet again what has proven to be incomprehensible to some, but if it is indeed the American occupation that has caused the insurgency (the insurgency was rather fledgling pre-occupation wasn't it?), and the American occupation is fueling the insurgency, how are the tactics you propose going to end an insurgency? If an insurgency would have formed even if the United States was the most benevolent belligerent to ever wage war and the most cordial occupier to ever occupy, how much would the United States exacerbate such an insurgency by treating *almost* ever Iraqi as you propose? Is Achmed more or less likely to do what it takes to destroy the occupying force if he just saw his sister crying against a wall, being patted down by Americans with machine guns?

15 Miners Killed in Explosion
An explosion at a coal mine in southern China killed 15 miners and injured three, China's official news agency said Monday. The explosion occurred Sunday at the Zhongxing Colliery in the Guizhou province, the Xinhua News Agency said. China's mines are said to be the most dangerous in the world, with more than 6,000 miners killed last year by fires, explosions, floods and cave-ins.
