This should be expected from Tool.  The trend they have when releasing material has stayed the same pretty much.

Opiate and Undertow were released back to back in years 1992 and 1993
then they took a 3 year vacation, releasing Aenima in Fall of '96
they take a 4 year break, and release Salival and Lateralus back to back in late 2000 and mid 2001.
According to that trend it looks as though the next album will be out spring '06
Next record after that, spring 2012 with a follow up in winter late 2012/early 2013.

Far fetched? maybe. But it's possible.. :twitchy:

In an interview last year Danny Carry said they were hoping it could be out by early 2005, that didn't happen....

I'll pray for this fall.

I heard rumors of it being released in December, but I have no actually proof or information on this. I'v been wating a long time for this cd.

Well, they didn't take 'breaks' in between albums, they went through a lot of legal shit because of publishing, I believe.

I'd personally rather them take their time. It seems like the kind of music that improves with the attention given to it.

From the clues about the process from BMB's posts on toolband.com, I'm betting spring 2006, with a summer tour.

haha I certainly am not 'beginning not to care'... I could listen to Lateralus for the rest of time. Sure I'm jonesing for more, but it'll come.

I'm with you. They have alot to live up to after putting out an album like Lateralus, I'd hate for it to be rushed.

When is it going to be released you ask?  Well I happen to know the exact date..........when it's done!

I'll wait for however long it takes.  Like Harbinger said, they have a lot to live up to and anything less than Lateralus II will be a dissapointment to everyone. 

Take however long you guys need to put out an album we all are expecting!

I bet it'll come out sometime in 06, probably spring. definitely no later than 06 though. and i'd bet more on the first half than the second.

ah fuck it, it's not like other bands that i adore equally (radiohead) aren't working on new material to be released somewhat soon.. hell, probably around the same time as the new tool album.

i've just been pumped about it since reading about how danny carry claimed it to contain the best piece of music he's been involved with creating. obviously such magnificence takes oodles of time to perfect.


we could all just use a little satiating....

I was listening to 101.1 on the way home today and it said their new album will be released early 2006.
