Help with DMT extraction

So I am extracting DMT from some mimosa. Right now the emulsions should be taking place where the naptha layer rises above the 'DMT juice'. I think the naptha layer should rise above and be clear but mine has a bunch of browness in it and I wanted to see if it was right so i took some of the naptha and put it in a cup to evaporate and it left a darkish residue. It should leave behind the DMT crystal either white or orange so I do not know whats up. Maybe its a failed experiment. If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated.

Okay does the napatha have brown blobs in it or is it just a brownish overall tint in the napatha? Did you defat? Please try to explain what you did step by step as descriptively as you can to get the best help.

Also afoaf has never evaped the napatha he has always done a freeze precipitation so maybe that works better. If you don't know what that just ask. Feel free to pm me if you feel better discussing this privately. Of course all advice given is meant to be hypothetical and should only take place where legal.

Defatting really isn't necessary with mimosa hostilis...to me it just sounds like you sucked up the part of the basified layer which is brown/black.

I think it makes a difference. Whether its "necessary" is a matter of personal opinion.

Don't need to defat, but if you're not going to give it a rinse, you should.

Alright Ill try to explain this the best I can. I used QT's guide and people keep telling me it sucks but I did not know better before I started so Im using it. Anyways I did NOT defat and I dont even know if its possible now...The naptha should be rising to the top and I can deffinitly see two seperate liquids. THe naptha layer has a bunch of brownish crystaline specs in it. I would try the freeze evaporation but I read that you need to know exactly how much DMT you are expecting so you can use the according amount of naptha.

edit: I used 300 mL of naptha for the 30g of mimosa.

Evaporate your naptha down to around 100mls before putting it in the freezer. After you take out your crstals you can let the rest of the naptha evaporate to make sure that you didn't leave any DMT behind.

So I should just suck up the naptha and let it evaporate to about 100 mL then put that in the freezer till it evaporates then let it sit out to completely evaporate? I am going to try this and I hope it works. WHen i evaporated some in a cup it left a dark residue and I think the crystal should be orange or white so maybe it is messed up?

Sorry, I checked some FAQs but I couldnt' find anything about it. THeres some sites that sell it but thats it. I tried google too.

You should let your naptha sit out on a counter and evaporate down to around 100 mls. Then put your naptha in a small pyrex cassarole dish. I got mine at wal-mart for less that $5 the size is approximatley 3x5in. Put on the cover that comes with it and stick it in the freezer for 24-48hrs. Some people like to wait longer but I only usually leave mine in for 24 hrs. You should see crystals formed on the bottom of the cassarole dish. This next step needs to be done rather quickly (within 1-2 minutes). Have a small mason jar handy and take out the cassarole dish. Pour the naptha into the mason jar, the crystals will stay stuck on the dish. Replace the top onto the casserole dish and put it back in the freezer for 5-10 minutes. Then take it out of the freezer and place it on the counter and let it warm to room temp with the lid still on. It is important that the lid remain on until the dish gets to room temperature because if you take it off there will be a lot of condensation on the inside of the dish and it can ruin your DMT crystals. Once it gets to room temperature you can take off the lid and let your crystals completley dry out. You can use a small fan for this but be warned that if you turn it on too high it can blow your crystals away and it also gets dust on them so if you aren't in a hurry just let it air dry. After they are dry you can scrape the bottom of the cassarole dish with a razor blade and do a wash or whatever you are planning on doing after that.

BTW I have heard of people getting bubbles of the basified solution dispersed throughout their naptha. They solved it by busting the bubbles with a coat hanger. Perhaps you should give this a try? If this doesn't wory I would suck up as much naptha as I could and once it is in a new container try to seperate the clear naptha from the brown/black junk. Bottom line is you don't want any brown/black particles in your naptha when you are getting ready to form your crystals.

I could be wrong but I believe mimosa hostilis grows in tropical climates. I know that most of the online suppliers get their stock from Brazil.

wow thats amazing how popele read only 1 tek on dmt and do no other research then they come crying on the forum boards.. when stuff doesn't go right..i have never done dmt extraction but i have worked with chemical extractions before of diff nature.. the thing is i even know not to use qt's method..but as im saying is do your home work before messing with this stuff. thats why i read reports from 01 on dmt...and i read all the post and replies on here to better prepare myself..
