Sports Forum
    #4798302 -

I think we should have a sports forum. The argument that there aren't enough sports fan on the board is even more of a reason to have one. Because of the lack of sports fans, sport threads get buried FAST. The fact is, non athletic people don't like sport threads and athletic people don't like their threads buried. If there was a forum to contain it, well that'd just be super.

It could even be made part of or a sub forum of Physical and Mental Well-Being.

I was thinking about this a couple weeks ago. I think it's a good idea. Everyone likes some sport.

Have you not read the "Official Statement On New Forum Creation" at the top of this forum?

I'm torn on this idea.

On the one hand I like the idea of a Sports forum, I would definitely post in there.

On the other hand, I think the community forums (OTD and the Pub) are definitely in need of the occasional sports post.

Sometimes even if there is a sports forum, I'm gonna want to post in the Pub about sports anyway. Like my Postseason Baseball thread...I would have posted that in there, not in the sports forum.

No. I'm saying we should have a sport forum.

I'm in all honesty completely naked about to hop in the shower then decided to make this thread.

I wrongly referred to sport fans as athletics, simply because athletics is faster to type.

With that said, we should have a sports forum.

Yeah, but sports forums would be great for any minor events/games you feel like discussing.

The most awesomest feature would be the fact that all sports threads are contained in one easy spot for access and that they get buried at a MUCH MUCH slower rate.

In OTD, superbowl threads lasted about 1 day.

The recent Yanks vs Angels thread lasted less than an hour.

My Castillo vs Corrales thread got buried with no posts, later to find out some people were interested in the fight but didn't get to my thread before it was buried incredibly fast.

The Pub and OTD are EXTREMELY fast paced forums. If the majority isn't interested in the thread, it's gonna disappear.

What if there was an OTD/Pub joint Sports subforum, where the rules were relaxed?  Cause sports calls for some flaming.

Yeah this is true but here in NY the local pub won't toss you out the door for getting a little rowdy during a game.

Edit: Forgot to add that a sports forum would be very nice.

Didn't you completely just stop playing in your fantasy football league?   It's odd that you'd be the one to come up with this idea.

I never started playing it.

I registered like a month before it started, went to Colorado when it started, and came back with a horrible streak so I didn't bother continuing.

I'm not much of a football fan anywho. I watch it when it's on. I am, however, a MMA, k-1, and boxing nut.
