Mushroom ID in lower Michigan
    #4750786 -

Hello all, I am back with some new mushrooms (and a broken digital camera). Since I cannot post pictures, I will try to describe my findings to the best of my ability.

Mushroom 1
* Habitat - my front yard in grass, Michigan, United States, rich black soil (fertilized)
* Characteristics of the gills - different shades of lighter brown, not attached, fairly dense
* Characteristics of the stem - 1.75" tall, 7/16" thick, creamy color, smooth, solid, thick
* Characteristics of the cap - 2.5" to 3.5" diameter, creamy with brown marks all over, fairly smooth, conical, mostly convex, some concave
* Spore print color - brown
* Color that the mushroom bruises - not sure
* Scent of the mushroom - smells faintly of a regular mushroom from the grocery store
* In the middle of the top of the cap, they all have a dark brown circle about 1/4 to 1/2 inches in diameter

Mushroom 2
* Habitat - same as mushroom 1
* Characteristics of the gills - dark brown, attached
* Characteristics of the stem - 1.5" to 2.5", 3/8" diameter, white turning into light brown at base, smooth, hollow, thick
* Characteristics of the cap - 1" to 2" diameter, light brown getting darker in middle, somewhat coarse, larger are conical, smaller are somewhat spherical, concave
* Spore print color - jet black
* Color that the mushroom bruises - not sure
* Scent of the mushroom - strong mushroom smell
* Smaller ones have lighter colored gills, mushrooms are very heavy for their size

Mushroom 3
* Habitat - same as mushroom 1 & 2
* Characteristics of the gills - very dark brown almost black, attached, very thin, dont stick out of mushroom cap too far
* Characteristics of the stem - 3.5" to 4.5", 5/16" diameter, white, smooth, hollow, thick
* Characteristics of the cap - 1.5" to 2" diameter, brownish gray, smooth, conical, concave
* Spore print color - didn't give a good spore print, but i think black
* Color that the mushroom bruises - not sure
* Scent of the mushroom - like mushroom 1, except a little "sweeter"
* Edges of cap are black, and older ones curl upward along edges of cap

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Well, I have personally ruled out mushrooms 1 and 3, but #2 looks like they may be pan subbs.  I got my new digital camera in today :smile: so here are some pics of mushroom 2:

thanks!

The general appearance looks more like that of a psathyrella.. velutina perhaps.
