HELP!! It's my 1st time growing.....

I just ordered spores and am ready to grow. I read that i'm supposed to grow my shrooms in rye grain spawn. my question is...... where do i buy rye grain. i found rye grain flour at the market, but where can i find rye grain. can i use rye grain flour? help! -thanks

If this is your first time growing read MMGG and the PF teks three times before you try to grow. these are teks for begginers. they explain each step very well.

you can sub the rye flour four the brown rice flour, but you must reed the teks first.

rye grain can be found at most health food stores.
rye is good because it can be shaken up to spead mycelium and quicken colonization

I really do beleive it is easier than using brf / verm as well. Using filters in place of jar lids, and the need for a pressure cooker are the reason most new peeps dont use it.

ya when i read that you had to shake it up, i was scared that, that would rip apart all the growing that had started to take place

thanks for directing me to the pf teks. i have another question, one that wasn't answered in that section. ok i have the spore print. its shaped like a circle. how much of it do i scrape off into the water for the solution i'm about to suck up in the needle

i ordered a spore print and a spore syringe. i thought you had to order the syringe too, so you could scrape some of the spore print off, mix it with the water, then suck it up in the syringe. but..... the syringe seems to have water in it with little black dots and they syringe says the name of the shroom on the label. Was the "getting the sprote print/water in the syringe already done for me? Please bare with me, i'm really really new to this
