Anyone ever grow in a two liter bottle?

A friend of a friend (who is outside the United States where shrooms are legal) is growing for the first time, following the MMGG. He keeps getting infections or cakes that refuse to pin in his two liter bottles. He is wondering how high the humidity should be in the two liter bottles. He has added no water to the two liter bottles, just the cake's moisture is in the bottle. He tells me his cakes are wet enough to produce water droplets on the side of his two liter bottles. Should he wipe off these water droplets with a tissue?
Also, someone suggested to him that he try letting the cakes pin while still in the jars. He tried this, and after he noticed three small aborts in the jar he took the cake out of the jar and placed it into the two liter bottle. Now, a few days later, he notices several dark specks on the cake, could this be the start of pinheads? If so, I would be very happy for my friend's friend
Thanks for any help guys and gals

I used to grow cakes in 2 liter bottles....lolz
I had them all over my house...hahahaaa
When you use 2 liter bottles there are a few things you need to do.
1.) put damp perlite in the bottom section.....keep the cake on the jar lid.
2.) make sure you spray the insides of the bottle.
3.) make sure you get a good seal on it.....when you put the two halves together. and keep the bottle top on.
4.) mist the insides of bottle and fan the cakes at least 2 times a day.
I had great results from 2 liter bottles. I just got tired of opening them up.....pain in the ass. *Tip* When cutting the 2 liter bottle in 2....cut the top part smaller than the bottom. Then cut a slit in the bottom part running up and down....about 1 1/2 inches. This makes it easier to open the damn thing to mist and fan.

yea road kill knows his s*it. ive been playing with 2 liter bottles recently too. im not as experienced as he is, but i found that you can take a 2-litter bottle, fill the bottom with wet verm and peroxide, then crumble up the cake lay it on top of there, then take some good ol jiffy mix you can buy at wal-mart, and some crushed oyster shell, you can get from a feed store, (made for chicken feed, used for calcium carb) mix in just a bit of oyster shell with the jiffy mix, and work it like a casing. it actually works nice, i just spotted a few of what i believe are pins today. once u get your bottle tek down, try this method out, see if you like it better, it only takes 1 cake to do also, and helps give a better idea behind casings. hope this helps peace rain
