heat my terrarium

i have a 30 gal fish/iguana tank im using for my terrarium. it will be in a rather small closet just big enough to fit the tank but much taller than the tank. how can i heat the terrarium/closet to prime temps 70-80 degrees F... ? and make the temp constant? i have a heating pad... maybe a heat lamp? anyone have any ideas? Thanks

hey

I have an aquarium terranium... mysetup is a $15 heating pad that is always on at the lowest setting

I wrapped a towel around it and pressed it against the wall of the terranium. I also wrapped a blanket around the whole thing to keep the warmth in. The blanket is on the side with a wall, and theres a big opening on the top with the lid for the light to get in... here's a picture....

I would also recommend buying a humidity/temperature gauge from Radio Shack , model # 63-3031 i think , it's a $30 item that is weather resistant, as most (electric) hygrometers will get damp in a terranium and short out

ok i have a rather larger terrarium. i have a big heating pad also that is in its own pillow case type thing it came in. should i put the heating pad inside the terrarium itself? would that cause any contams seeing as it has a pillow case type thing around it.. i could tape it to the glass and it should work i guess. wont the humidity on the glass damage the heating pad? i have a small closet i can barely fit the tank in there width and length wise but it has room for height. so if i just put the heating pad in the closet and turn it on the high setting lets say will the heat penetrate the glass and air tight seal? and for a temp meter i was just going to take a thermometer and tape it to the glass to read the temp inside. as for humidity i would just guess.. like if theres lots of water on the glass and it drips a fair amount its 100% or close. if theres not alot of water and barely any drops it means i have to up the water in the perlite.. hows all this sound?
