Man, in the last month I've downloaded 60 GB of mp3's. and around 40 or 50 GB of movies. It's gonna take me months to listen to/watch all of this stuff. I've got over 12 GB of Zappa mp3s. I'm insane.

I have got over 50 gigs of mp3. And about 120 gigs of pirated movies. IRC is the shit when it comes to albums and high quality movie rips.

I've got buy myself another hard drive. I've got 500 GB filled up.
Christ, I remember when I had a measly little 3 GB hard drive. How times have changed.

although I use the bitrate filter in nicotine - definitely helps.
I dont download crap mp3 encodings...only VBR, ogg, or lossless.
might take a few more minutes of searching, but it is worth it.

Go to www.mydownloader.com and learn how to use MIRC an IRC client. You can find any album ever made, high quality mp3.

I got out of using IRC 3or 4 years ago. I don't know why really because it has always been an awesome program for that sort of thing.
What's a good server to get on for that sort of thing?....I think that I used to use Dalnet or something.

I use to download with soulseek, but I don?t know if it still works, now I use emule, and goes ok, but only for movies and well yes porn, I decided that 70GB of music was ok for a lifetime

I've also been furiously downloading music.
Mostly live shows. So far this summer I've downloaded ten Grateful Dead shows, three Rat Dog shows, almost every Keller Williams show from this summer, all of moe.'s moe.down sets, other moe., and a selection from the festivals I've attended this summer (Bonnaroo, All Good, 10,000 Lakes, GOTV, moe.down, Schwagstock).

soulseek works just fine - probably better than ever with the latest client.

i say get while you can!
i've been harboring the paranoid thought that someday some nazi agency is going to really crank down on this perfect situation!
or at least make us so misrable that we'd forsake the search and archiving of good music/movies
i enjoy the thought that my kids will have access to all the stuff i've been keeping!
i liked going through my perents old photos and stuff but my kids are gonna have so much more than that!

i've had a couple close calls (my HD was full for about half a year and finelly crashed but i was able to get everything out... damn windows) i just recently bought a new 80gig HD but i would have gone for MUCH more if my computer could handle it...
and i'm putting off buying a new computer untill i finelly move out...
i wanted to get an iriver to back out what i've got right now but even that won't be enough pretty soon  (i'm up to 32 gigs of mp3s)

though i have to mention that i'm not one for storing stuff i don't listen to so thats 32 gigs of stuff i'd recomand anyone...
